The academic network was launched in 2007 by Cadence® Europe. The aim was to promote the proliferation of leading-edge technologies and methodologies at univer- sities renowned for their engineering and design excellence. A knowledge network among selected European universities, research institutes, industry advisors and Cadence was established to facilitate the sharing of technology expertise in the areas of verification, design and implementation of microelectronic systems. The Chair for Integrated Analog Circuits and RF Systems (IAS) is a member since 2007.

We use Cadence software for research and education.

Our main research topics are design and verification of analog circuits such as RF frontends for mobile wireless devices, power management, Bluetooth, radar and medical applications. For all these topics we rely on Cadence Virtuoso®, Spectre® (RF), Incisive® Unified Simulator (IUS) and Encounter® Digital Implementation System (EDI).

You can find here a comprehensive list of our current research activities.

In the lab "Praktikum Analog Mixed-Signal Elektronik", the students learn the use of Cadence Virtuoso and Spectre RF beginning with transient simulation of inverters and ending up with PSS, pnoise, etc. simulations of RF building blocks and layout. In the "Institutsprojekt 4. Semester" students have the possibility to work on self-chosen circuits using Cadence tools.

Furthermore, almost all Master- and Bachelor theses are done in Cadence software.

You can find here a comprehensive list of our current education activities.
